Here at WKI, we love to pitch and catch.  That is to say, we spend a lot of time looking at and listening to pitches – which had us thinking it would be fun to share some of our tips and takeaways for a great pitch.

The difference with these is that they aren’t your standard tips.  We’ve assembled some of the less talked about points that hopefully will help someone out there get to a “yes” quicker.

Shout out to my collaborator @JohnHanak for his wisdom on a few of these.  John’s point to not follow any template blindly is spot on.  There’s no such thing as a “standard” pitch deck.  Every pitch is its own unique situation and needs to reflect you and your target audience.

These are the first 5 – there’ll be a few others coming soon.  Feel free to share them with any of your founders who are pitching new ideas.
