Developing Deep Science Startups in a University Ecosystem
This webinar will be discussing deep science startup development at the University of Houston Technology Bridge and how the Innov8 Program founded by Dr. Tanu Chatterji and Robert Johnson are building a pipeline to support technology commercialization for early-stage ventures and entrepreneurs who are faculty, students and staff in partnership with UH SBDC.

Dr. Tanu Chatterji, PhD.

Dr. Tanu Chatterji is currently the Associate Director of Startup development at University of Houston. In her role at University of Houston, she is focused on developing a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem by facilitating transfer of technologies from the lab to the market and teaching the next generation student entrepreneurs to be successful with their business ventures. She designs and implements programming at the university that facilitates venture creation, entrepreneurial education, and technology transfer. She oversees facilities and startup incubation operations at the UH Technology bridge. She has been involved developing partnerships and collaborations with academic institutions on commercialization and development of joint inventions. Dr. Chatterji is also an Adjunct Professor at the UH Bauer College of Business and teaches Technology Entrepreneurship to Undergraduate and Graduate Students. Within the Houston innovation ecosystem, she has worked with the local angel and Venture investment groups and supported founders to achieve their goals for their startup companies. She has a technical background in the biomedical sciences and over 10 years of expertise in technology commercialization.
Dr Chatterji earned her PhD. In Cancer Biology from MD Anderson Cancer Center and her Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Idaho State University. She also leads Growth and Strategy initiatives for an Ed Tech startup focused on Social Entrepreneurship. She is also an advisor and a mentor to various incubators and accelerators in Houston.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling and being a mom to her 2 sons (one human and one canine)
