Meet Wendy › Little-Known Facts

I know I don’t look old enough for this, but…

• I have five brothers and sisters. Three are entrepreneurs with successful businesses and two are executives in high-growth technology businesses.
• At age 35, I went back to school to get my MBA (Queen’s University)
• My favourite quote is one from Julia Childs – “As good as simply isn’t” – Powerful words when assessing your competitive edge.
• I’m the founder of three companies. Two were based upon my own ideas and one was a corporate training program that became the first of its kind in Canada to focus on teaching business skills to entrepreneurial engineers. .
• In 1996 I was the youngest professor ever awarded the Dr. Laurent Isabelle award for innovation and excellence as an educator.

• I’m a photographer, amateur of course! My favorite subjects are animals and landscapes.
• I’m a dog person – I have two great “lads” as I refer to them, Molson (10) and Tahoe (2).
• I love to sing. In the car. When I’m alone.
• I come from a family of avid golfers, among whom I hold the torch for the longest drive competition.
• I’m a huge hockey fan and have held season tickets to The Ottawa Senators for 10 years.
• I’m a country girl at heart – I live on two acres and I love to garden.
